Certificate of Completion: As soon as you receive your Certificate for completing the course you need to turn it into the Clerk of Court Traffic Division in the county that issued you the ticket to avoid points being added to your license. If the course is required by a Judge Order or Court Order then immediately turn in your Certificate to the supplied address.
If you are charged with a moving violation in a county that has authorized the Fine Collection Center (FCC) to approve DIP, and you plead guilty and pay your fine and costs in full to the FCC, you will automatically be approved to attend an authorized Driver Improvement Program course to avoid having points assessed on your Missouri driver’s license.

The violation(s) on your ticket must be an eligible Vehicle Code infraction. Any violation that carries a negligent operator point count of more than one point under VC 12810 or one and one-half points or more under VC 12810.5(b)(2) is not eligible. Seat belt, mechanical or equipment violations, failure to have insurance and other certain specified violations are not eligible for traffic school.

Outrageous Shipping Fees – This is one of the most widely used tactics by online traffic schools to try and increase profits. This is actually a bigger problem in other states which require paper copies to be mailed out, but some online traffic schools in California try to sell you on expedited shipping fees for a paper copy of your certificate. Completely ignore that.
Beginning January 1st, 2013, the California Department of Motor Vehicles officially began overseeing operations, approvals and completion processing for all traffic schools in the state. With this change in place all online traffic school providers must secure new approvals directly through the DMV. This also makes completion processing a more streamlined process than it was when dealing with the 58 individual superior courts.

Effective September 1, 2012, all DMV approved traffic violator schools are required to submit certificates of traffic school completion electronically to the Court. Therefore, hard copy completion certificates are no longer issued or required to be submitted to the Court. Courts are required to report completion of traffic school to the DMV as a confidential conviction. Only one conviction in any 18-month period will be held confidential and not show on your driving record if you complete a traffic violator school program. If you decide not to attend traffic school or fail to complete traffic school by the due date the following will occur:
Once you finish Aceable Traffic School and pass your final exam in-app, we’ll report your completion information to the California DMV. We’ll notify you shortly after we process your completion status to let you know that it has been reported. And just like that, your traffic citation and subsequent points on your driving record will disappear. Yippee! Go. Be Free. But above all, drive safely.
Each county clerk has their own procedure. Typically there is a form to fill out when you pay your traffic ticket to elect traffic school. Be aware that if you pay your fine and do not elect traffic school then you will receive the points for the violation and your case will be closed. You cannot decide to take traffic school in Florida after you have paid the fine.

Getting out of traffic school altogether takes a lot of work on your part. And, it starts the moment you get pulled over by a police officer. Mind your manners and your temper. Be calm, be cool and be nice to the officer, following their directions the best you can. Given the right set of circumstances, he or she may decide to give you a free pass from getting a ticket, which means you're in the clear from having to attend traffic school.

My, how things have changed. While common sense driving and basic driving rules probably have not changed much since you got your first driver license, there are certain issues that are specific to certain decades. For example, if you got your license 20 years ago or more, cell phone use wasn’t as big of an issue as it is currently since most drivers now have one.Distracted driving is an ever growing problem which has eclipsed driving under the influence of alcohol. The latest statistics show that over 400,000 auto crashes were caused by distracted drivers using their cell phones. Also, every year state and local legislatures pass a myriad of new traffic laws that can affect your driving privileges. So as you can see, traffic school may have many positive benefits.
Taking traffic school has several benefits in California. One, if a driver is taking it to mask a traffic violation, then the conviction will be masked on the driving record and his or her insurance will not increase. Two, it will qualify most drivers for an insurance discount. Third, it teaches one to be a better driver and hopefully prevent future tickets and accidents.
